New MacBook Pro, iPad Mini 8 and M6 iMac Open for Pre-Order, Shipping November 6
Apple's new iPad mini, M6 iMac and two MacBook Pro lines are up for pre-order from $699, with Best Buy gift cards on some models. Here are the prices and offers.
Apple’s latest batch of hardware is now available to pre-order. The lineup includes the iPad mini 8, an M6 iMac, an M6 14-inch MacBook Pro and a higher-end MacBook Pro with an OLED touchscreen. Everything is due to start arriving on November 6, and Best Buy is offering gift cards on some of the laptops and the iPad.
What Apple announced
The iPad mini is described as the “biggest update ever” for Apple’s smallest tablet. It gets an OLED display, the A20 Pro chip, an optional nano-texture display and a reworked speaker system. It is also the first iPad with an IP67 rating, which means protection against water and dust. It comes in two colors, Midnight and Starlight.
The M6 MacBook Pro is mostly the same as the model it replaces, but with newer silicon for better performance and faster Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth. It comes in silver and space black. The M6 iMac follows the same story: more speed, Wi-Fi 7 and the same color choices as before, namely green, yellow, orange, pink, purple, blue and silver.
The headline product is the MacBook Pro with the PROLED XDR display. It is the first Mac with a touchscreen, the first with an OLED screen and the first with a Dynamic Island. It uses the same M5 Pro and M5 Max chips as the previous generation, and it has a glowing Apple logo on the back.

Where the pre-order deals are
Amazon, B&H Photo and Best Buy all have pre-orders open, according to MacRumors. Best Buy is the only one with extras so far. It is giving a $50 gift card with the iPad mini 8 and a $100 gift card with pre-orders of the M6 14-inch MacBook Pro and the PROLED XDR 14-inch and 16-inch models. The M6 iMac has no offers at the moment.
MacRumors notes that it earns a small payment from some of these retailers when readers buy through its links, so factor that in when reading its roundups.
What it means for buyers
If you were planning to buy one of these, pre-ordering gets you in line for the November 6 arrival, and the Best Buy gift card is a small bonus on the laptops and iPad. If you only want the cheapest price, the iMac is the one product with no deal yet, so it may be worth checking again before launch.
One small inconsistency is worth knowing. The two sources describe the Bluetooth version differently, listing Bluetooth 7 for the M6 MacBook Pro and Bluetooth 6 for the iMac, so check Apple’s spec page before buying if that matters to you.
What comes next
The new Apple TV 4K and Apple HomeView are also up for pre-order and are due one week after the Macs and iPad. Prices for other configurations and any new offers have not been confirmed, so watch retailer pages as launch day approaches.
