Google’s Pixel Watch 5 has dropped to its lowest price yet. The 41-mm Wi-Fi model is currently $300 instead of $400, a 25 percent cut. The larger 45-mm model has also fallen, from $430 to $330. According to a Wired report, Amazon, Best Buy and the Google Store are all offering the discount as part of an early Black Friday sale, and it is not clear how long it will last.

What is on sale

  • Pixel Watch 5, 41 mm, Wi-Fi: $300, down from $400.
  • Pixel Watch 5, 45 mm: $330, down from $430.
  • Retailers: Amazon, Best Buy and the Google Store.

Wired says this is the lowest price it has seen for the watch. The sale started ahead of the late-November shopping holiday, so shoppers do not have to wait for Black Friday itself to get a lower price.

What the watch offers

The Pixel Watch 5 is a refinement of the previous model. It has double the RAM and storage and a Qualcomm Snapdragon W5 Gen 2 processor, which Wired says makes it 20 percent faster than its predecessor. The display is domed and, according to the report, easy to read during workouts.

Health and fitness are the main focus of the update:

  • A Strength Training experience that tracks weights and reps, with a workout builder, audio cues and rest times. Routines can be built in the Google Health app.
  • Gemini AI integration, including generating a workout from a photo of your gym equipment, and some offline tasks such as starting a workout.
  • Google’s Health Guardian tools, which include monitoring of insulin resistance trends, blood pressure trends, breathing emergencies (only in select countries) and sleep breathing quality.
  • ECG, skin temperature tracking and loss-of-pulse detection.
  • Upgraded sleep tracking, which Google says is 15 percent more accurate than on the Pixel Watch 4.

Battery and charging

Google estimates up to 40 hours of battery life. The Wired reviewer reports getting around 36 hours in testing before the watch shut down. Fast charging is described as the standout: 15 minutes on the charger gives up to 15 hours of use, which helps anyone who tends to charge the watch at the last minute.

Why it matters for buyers

At $400 the reviewer calls the watch a pricey recommendation, partly because many of its software upgrades will also reach the previous generation. At $300, the report says, it costs less than the latest Apple Watch Series 12 and other high-end smartwatches. For Android users who have been waiting for a discount, that changes the value picture. The reviewer’s advice is that there is little reason to hold out for Black Friday.

Keep in mind that the praise comes from one outlet, and battery life in the review fell short of Google’s own estimate. If battery endurance matters most to you, factor that in before buying.

What to do next

  • Check the price at all three retailers before you buy, since stock and pricing can change.
  • Choose your size first: the 41-mm model with Wi-Fi is the $300 one, and the 45-mm model is $330.
  • Note that the report does not say when the sale ends, so a further drop on Black Friday itself remains possible but unconfirmed.
